Ode to Jack …

Yesterday we said a tearful farewell to our beautiful Jack .

Feeling grateful for so many precious memories .

Jackie you were always an eager participant and hated to be left behind.

So many visions of you are flooding my mind.

Jumping off High Rock into the Gatineau River; chasing the ski-doo in the back field behind the house; running in front of us cross country skiing on the railway track; tearing around the house after Chico the rabbit; flying down the toboggan hill at Larrimac; dressed up in a bonnet being pushed in the doll stroller; digging for clam shells on the river bank; standing on the paddle board looking up stream; head out the window and ears flapping in the wind as we drive down the highway to visit the girlies at school. .

Jackie you truly lived life to the fullest.

In every house that we lived in, you made sure to find a spot where you could look out the window, and watch for us to come home. You loved a good meal of BBQ chicken, ham and melted cheese three times a day and never ever passed up a treat- your dessert.

Over the years, our walks got shorter and shorter and yet, took longer and longer. Somehow I knew you were still enjoying them. It was our time together, just the two of us. You taught me to slow down and enjoy the scenery.

Life truly is a gift and I thank you for sharing yours with us.

  1. I’m so so sorry for your loss. Fur babies are special friends that we cherish. Always so hard to let them go even though they will be in our hearts forever.

    1. Martina !! Hello !
I was just thinking about you the other day.
I’m sure you must have heard lots of Jack stories from Jan.
He was quite the character and brought us so much joy.
Life is quiet and sad without him.
Thank you so much for reaching out. I hope you are well.
